All is Well!

Jan. 20, 2014

hello my good family! for some reason the weather man keeps telling us its going to be hot, so Ill probably be wearing short sleeves for the rest of the winter! who knows. All I know is that the sun is setting here in Hermosillo and I'm sweating. I have enjoyed my time with Elder Joyner and am really gonna miss the guy, hes only got 2 more weeks left, and we have decided to step up our game even more as he reaches the end.

Tuesday we had an early meal at hermana blancas house and then later went to an OXXO (a convenience store) to put on saldo, or credit to make phone calls and left the keys to our house right there on the counter! doop! we left the OXXO and didn't realize I left the keys there until the night and had to walk 45 minutes across our area to get them. it was a miracle they were there. I felt bad for wasting our time. nobody is perfect.

We found two new brothers this week. One is 23 and the other is 27. They both go to another church, but they are very open and loved talking with us. We sat there and they asked us questions for a good few minutes about how it was being a missionary and how we see the world today and how we battle it and all. It was really neat. They thought very highly of us and thought it was amazing us being young men out doing what we are doing being so far away from home. We shared with them the message of the restoration and they seemed to be impacted and interested. We left them with a copy of the Book of Mormon for them to read and they said that they would read it. we left feeling super edified, and this visit served as a confirmatino about why we are here!

We also had alot of fun teaching Angel again. He is super solid and was the only one of our investigators to make it to church this Sunday. He is progressing well to his baptismal date on Feb 15. we were really hoping things would pick up this week, but Sunday swings by and nobody shows up. We even ask members to go by their houses and pick them up for church, but they dont go :( we stay positive. We push along. there is a bug going around in Hermosillo and I think 3/4 of the ward was sick this week. We gave lots of blessings. And yes mom I'm doing alright. just a little cough i guess

This morning we got a surprise phone call from Pres, and he told us that he needed us to do a favor. there is a missionary that is finishing up the same time as elder Joyner named Elder Cruz, and President wants us to be in a trio with him until he leaves. Pres explained that Elder Cruz is a good missionary that has forgotten how to work hard, and wants us to motivate him so that he might able to go home with the mentality elder joyner have. Mas o menos, eso es lo que nos dijo. we are going to get him at the offices tonight.

All is well here. thank you for your love and support. I am excited to hear the news of my new baby niece Emery. I know everything will go so well. My testimony is doubling everyday! for this reason and so many more, I love being a missionary. I love you all! have a great week and remember the nails

ELDER FARROW!!
